Old Bahama Bay, Grand Bahama, The BahamasOld Bahama Bay Marina was the first marina to achieve Blue Flag status in 2005. This marina, located on Grand Bahama One of the only night navigable nautical points of entry, Old Bahama Bay Resort and Yacht Club is approximately one and a half miles from the West End village, which has a population estimated at 2500 and approximately 25 miles west of the city of Freeport on the island of Grand Bahama. The resort has 73 luxury rooms, 2 restaurants, a swimming pool, fitness centre, massage parlor and tennis courts. There are two natural sensitive areas near the marina. The first of the underwater sea fan bed (Soft Coral) is at Settlement Point just at the south western tip of the Island in about two feet of water at low tide. The other is Indian Cay, an island about two hundred yards off the north western tip of the island. This is a habitat for migrating birds, and a nesting site for native birds. |
